Wheelchair Transport

Purpose-built vans. Properly trained drivers. No improvising.

Our wheelchair fleet isn't a converted minivan with a ramp bolted on. These are ADA-compliant Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) with hydraulic lifts, 4-point Q'Straint securement, and drivers certified to operate them. The difference is everything.

What's Included

Every WAV trip comes with.

The equipment, training, and care that turn a wheelchair van into a real wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

Hydraulic lift or ramp — your choice

Power chairs and bariatric chairs use the lift. Manual chairs typically use the low-profile ramp. We'll match the right vehicle to the chair at booking.

4-point Q'Straint securement

Industry-gold-standard wheelchair tie-downs. Four straps to the floor, plus a 3-point shoulder/lap belt for the passenger. The chair doesn't move. Period.

Manual, power, and bariatric chairs

We accommodate mobility devices up to 600 lbs in our standard fleet, with bariatric capacity to 800 lbs on our reinforced vehicles.

Oxygen-friendly cabin

Oxygen tanks (up to E-size) and portable concentrators travel with you, secured upright with quick-release straps. Driver trained in basic O2 handling.

One companion rides free

Family member, caregiver, nurse, or aide rides with you at no extra cost. Always.

Door-through-door care

Driver navigates ramps, thresholds, elevators, and clinic check-in with you — not just to the curb and back.

Right For

Who uses our wheelchair service.

If your loved one uses a wheelchair — manual, power, or bariatric — we have the vehicle and the team for it.

Dialysis (3x/week)

Standing schedule, same driver, same vehicle. Built for the rhythm of treatment.

Physical & occupational therapy

Weekly rehab visits, joint replacement recovery, stroke rehab.

Cancer treatment

Chemotherapy, radiation, oncology follow-ups — consistent transport on a fragile body.

Hospital & clinic visits

Specialist consults, surgical follow-ups, lab work, imaging.

Senior living to appointments

Assisted living and SNF residents to outside specialist visits.

Weddings, funerals, family events

Because wheelchair users have lives outside of medical appointments — and deserve to be there.

How a Wheelchair Trip Works

What to expect, step by step.

01

Book with chair details

Tell us: chair type (manual/power/bariatric), approximate weight, your weight. We match the right WAV.

02

Lift & secure

Driver deploys the lift, helps you board, secures the chair with 4-point straps and you with a 3-point belt.

03

Ride & arrive

Smooth ride to your destination. Driver escorts you in — handling thresholds, elevators, and check-in.

04

Return safely home

Driver is back at appointment end-time. Door-through-door home. Chair properly stowed if a transfer was needed.

Wheelchair-Specific Questions

The things families ask.

Q.

What size and weight chair can you handle?

Our standard WAVs accommodate wheelchairs up to 600 lbs (chair + occupant). Our bariatric fleet handles up to 800 lbs. Power chairs, scooters, manual chairs, custom seating — all fine. If you're not sure, send us a photo of the chair and we'll confirm in minutes.

Q.

Can my power chair stay on during the ride?

Yes. The chair stays as-is — you don't transfer to a vehicle seat. We secure the chair to the floor with 4-point straps, then secure you with a separate 3-point belt. This is the safest configuration and how all certified WAV operators do it.

Q.

What about my oxygen tank or concentrator?

Both travel with you. Oxygen tanks (up to E-size) are secured upright with quick-release straps. Concentrators sit on the floor next to your chair. Drivers are trained in basic oxygen handling. If you need us to provide oxygen, we can — let us know at booking.

Q.

Does Medicaid cover wheelchair transport?

For eligible patients, yes — through Texas Medicaid transportation brokers MTM, Modivcare, and Verida. We're credentialed with all three. We'll verify your specific coverage free of charge before booking. Medicare Advantage plans often include NEMT too.

Q.

Can a family member ride with us?

Yes, one companion rides free. Additional companions are $15 each. Our WAVs have proper companion seating with seatbelts — not jump seats.

Q.

What if your driver doesn't show up?

That doesn't happen with our recurring riders because we have backup drivers built into the schedule. For one-off trips, if we're more than 15 minutes late for a non-weather, non-traffic reason, your next ride is on us. We publish our on-time rate — currently 98%.

Ready When You Are

A WAV ride. Done right.

Same-day, scheduled, or recurring. Tell us about the chair — we'll match the vehicle.
